  • RIP Corey Haim: 80s Teen Idol

    Corey HaimCorey HaimToday, the Canadian born actor and former teen idol, Corey Haim died. He was thirty eight.  A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner announced that the cause of the death appears to be accidental, possibly an drug overdose. Mr. Haim battled substance addiction for several years. He was found unresponsive in an Oakwood apartment and pronounced dead at Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center at 2:15 a.m. this morning. His mother, according to FOX station KTLA, was in the apartment at the time. (The Associated Press)

    5.  “Broken Wings” by Mr. Mister- From the 1985 album Welcome to the Real World, “Broken Wings” was the first #1 hit for Mr. Mister. One of the things most memorable about this song is the pitting of the disjointed rhythm of the electric guitar against the beat of the drum which actually flow together smoothly giving it a very unique song. The lyrics are poetic, like much of the music from the time, featuring the talents of lyricist John Lang.
