Fans of 1980’s hair metal rejoice! The original line-up of Guns-N-Roses will re-unite on stage during the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cleveland, OH on April 14th 2012. Unfortunately, they aren’t scheduled to play together but hopefully a set list from the original band is not far behind. Indications from former band members such as Slash and Axl Rose don’t indicate any such reunion…yet. Die hard hair metal fans can hold onto this faint glimmer of hope. The original band members of Guns-N-Roses from the Appetite for Destruction days are: Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin, and Steven Adler. They haven’t been together on stage in over 20 years. The world of hair metal has been hoping for a full reunion of the original band for nearly that long.
Guns-N-Roses exploded onto the rock scene in 1987 with their album Appetite for Destruction and gave the genre of metal music a serious edge. The Gunners were known for their partying ways, drug and alcohol use, and often erratic behavior of their lead singer Axl Rose. Guns-N-Roses still tours but the only original member of the band is Axl Rose. Some remaining members; Slash, Duff McKagan, and former drummer of the band (post Steven Adler) Matt Sorum formed the band Velvet Revolver along with the former lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots Scott Weiland and former member of the band Wasted Youth, Dave Kushner. Weiland is now back touring with Stone Temple Pilots. Slash has been seen recently seen in the Disney movie “Pfineas and Ferb” and is currently performing as a solo artist.
