First I have to admit that I don't watch very many commercials. I don't have cable, we watch our Hulu/Netflix/Prime so rarely that it barely justifies the cost and I tend to mute Youtube commercials unless they are movie trailers. So this may be a trend that's been going on for a while now and I'd love for you to tell me if it is.
The other day I was at my mom's house (where the TV is on even if she's not in the room because she thinks the dogs will get lonely without it!) and I saw some really interesting commercials for Kit Kat bars. They were filled with really 80s looking people and music, even the bold, bright colors I associate with my 80s childhood. It made me want a Kit Kat and I don't even like them all that much! Also? I could watch this commercial all day. I love it.
I completely believe that retro throwbacks sell. They call to our sense of nostalgia and make us pine for what seemed like a simpler place but was really only simpler because we were kids and didn't know about anything yet! How about you? Do you think it sells and have you seen any other examples?
