First I have to admit that I don't watch very many commercials. I don't have cable, we watch our Hulu/Netflix/Prime so rarely that it barely justifies the cost and I tend to mute Youtube commercials unless they are movie trailers. So this may be a trend that's been going on for a while now and I'd love for you to tell me if it is.
We have been watching a bunch of 80s movies with our tween lately, and while we were excited to share our love of these movies with her at first, she is so much more "woke" than we were at her age. She is quick to point out rape culture, racism, sexism and other issues with movies. She's also very unimpressed with cheap effects!
Stranger Things script supervisor Lori Grabowski has made some claims about the higher-ups on Netflix's Stranger Things abusing their power, bullying and harrassing people to the point of her quitting the show despite its incredible success. Things have to be pretty bad if you're willing to risk losing such an opportunity.
